Life on Earth is Hurting
We’re seeing a decrease in biodiversity, destruction of forests, rise in air pollution, loss of our topsoil, dwindling drinking water, and an increase in CO2 in our atmosphere—just to name a few. Lucky for us, trees are one of Nature’s most powerful tools for creating a healthy planet. Let’s work with Nature to plant new trees and responsibly care for the ones we have.
Each minute, we cut down nearly 30 football field’s worth of trees.
Every year, our deforestation, agricultural, and development practices denude, degrade, and erode billions of tons of topsoil.
“Change is never easy and it often creates discord. But when people come together for the good of humanity and the earth, we can accomplish great things.”
— David Suzuki

Tree Facts
Trees keep our air supply fresh by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen.
In one year, an acre of trees can absorb as much carbon as is produced by a car driven up to 14,000 km.
Trees lower air temperature by evaporating water from their leaves.
The average tree in a metropolitan area survives only about 8 years! This is due to improper species selection, planting and lack of maintenance. What's the point of planting a tree if it only survives an average of 8 years?
A tree only reaches its most productive stage of carbon storage after about 10 years.
Tree roots stabilize the soil and prevent erosion.
Trees improve water quality by slowing and filtering rainwater and protecting aquifers and watersheds.
Trees provide protection from the downward fall of rain, sleet, and hail, as well as reduce stormwater run-off and the possibility of flooding,
Trees provide food and shelter for wildlife.
Trees located along streets act as a glare and reflection control.
The death of one 70-year-old tree would return over three tons of carbon to the atmosphere.
Old forests & old trees are not easily replaced; it takes at least 2-3 human lifespans (140-250 years) to grow back an old-growth forest and another 2-3 times as long for an ancient forest to develop.
One With Nature!
Together, we can cultivate a thriving planet by nurturing the growth of healthy trees. These natural wonders provide us with clean drinking water, fertile soil for growing crops, and flourishing ecosystems that support a diverse range of life. Trees also play a crucial role in regulating carbon levels in our atmosphere, making them an invaluable tool for combating climate change.
In addition to caring for our trees, let's also prioritize the health of our soil by abandoning harmful chemicals and fertilizers. By replacing manicured lawns with vibrant native flowers and trees, we can work in harmony with nature to create ecosystems that foster the growth and well-being of all living creatures.
Let's commit to promoting a healthier planet by embracing the power of nature and taking steps to create thriving ecosystems for generations to come.

HIRING AN ARBORIST
ISA Certified Arborists® are individuals who have proven a level of knowledge in the art and science of tree care through experience and by passing a comprehensive examination developed by some of the nation’s leading experts on tree care. ISA Certified Arborists must also continue their education to maintain their certification. Therefore, they are more likely to be updated on the latest arboriculture techniques.
Here are a few tips for selecting a company to work with your trees:
Avoid arborists who advertise they TOP trees. Ask the arborists if they will top your trees. If they say yes, don't use them.
(See: 8 Reasons not to TOP your Trees)Be sure the company has the appropriate licenses, insurance, and certifications.
Ask them about the ANSI A300 pruning and the ANSI Z133.1 safety standards. Ask if their practices will comply with the standards.
Beware of an arborist who suggests removing living healthy trees. Although this is sometimes necessary, it should be considered the last resort after all other options have been considered.
Determine if the arborist is certified with the International Society of Arboriculture (See: ISA website). Certified arborists must pass a written test and maintain certification by regularly attending classes.
Low price is a poor gauge of a quality arborist. Often the better ones are more expensive because of more specialized equipment, more professional training, and insurance costs.
